Near the night's close - after having spent the lions' share of our time trading tips and showing off projects, we realized that only 10 minutes were left on the clock. In those 10 minutes we built the prototype website for Greg's startup (including a little homebrew MVC and a good working example of object-oriented programming in Javascript).

A good night.

  1. The bit of code and web dev we did at this meeting inspired me to hand code a new site from scratch, rather than tinker with a cumbersome site builder anymore. It led to my site looking and working exactly how I'd envisioned it in one night, as opposed to days and days of struggling to make other software cooperate. There's more if like to add, like a comment box option on the blog (just like this) or a means of condensing it into one dynamic page as opposed to multiple static ones, but like Rome, it will not be built in a day.
